A foreign national may be eligible to apply for registration as an Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cardholder if they meet certain conditions. This includes individuals who were Indian citizens at any time on or after January 26, 1950, or those who were eligible to become citizens of India on that date. It also applies to people who belonged to territories that became a part of India after August 15, 1947. Furthermore, the eligibility extends to the children, grandchildren, or great-grandchildren of such individuals. Minor children of those who fall under these categories are also eligible, as are minors with one or both parents holding Indian citizenship.
