The Entry X Visa, commonly referred to as an X-Visa, is a type of Indian visa issued to certain categories of foreign nationals with close ties to India. This visa is primarily granted to:
1. Individuals of Indian origin
2. Spouses of Indian citizens or persons of Indian origin
3. Children or grandchildren of Indian citizens or persons of Indian origin
The Entry X Visa allows eligible individuals to reside in India for extended periods, often exceeding 180 days, without the need for frequent renewals or re-entry. It is not intended for tourists or business travelers, but rather for those who have familial or ancestral connections to India and wish to stay for personal reasons such as family visits, long-term settlement, or cultural immersion.
1. Former Indian Passport Holders – Anyone who previously held an Indian passport, even if they have since acquired citizenship of another country, is eligible.
2. Ancestral Ties to India – Individuals whose parents, grandparents, or even great-grandparents were born in India or lived in India as permanent residents can apply under this category.
3. Spouses of Indian Nationals or Persons of Indian Origin – If you are married to a citizen of India or someone who qualifies as a person of Indian origin (as defined in the points above), you are also eligible to apply for an Entry X Visa.
